Whitewater Naiads is an amazing Magic card. I have never been disappointed drafting it.
The ability to give your creatures the best kind of evasion is undeniably strong in Limited. Seeing the Naiads in my first pack pushes me strongly to go blue.
Definately look for other creatures and enchantments to round out the combo.

I was wondering why you dismissed Bloodcrazed Hoplite? I would have looked at it as a force multiplier and since it is cheap mana to play would have grabbed it, not in the first pick which I guess is the point of the video, get the best card… I sometimes am still confused as to what is good and what is first round grab. Picking the best card it seems like is always desirable, but what about picking low mana cost cards to mass forces early? Mind you I still suck at this game.
Bloodcrazed Hoplite is just okay. While he is cheap, and it’s good to have a reasonable amount of two drops in your deck, he doesn’t provide as much functionality as the Naiads. Time and time again I have seen the Naiads turn games around because the ability to make a creature unblockable is hard to deal with. You can keep getting in for damage turn after turn as long as you have enchantments to play.
The Hoplite needs to be targeted to get bigger, so that takes a card slot in your deck, and hardly ever gets to use his second ability. Then you still need to get through with him which may or may not happen depending on the board state. He is playable, and as a two drop he’s not terrible, but as far as a first pick the Naiads will win you games and that’s why I went with them.
The Hoplite will probably wheel (meaning go all the way around the table) and you can pick it up if you’re in those colors by that time.
